Summer Teacher Reads 2015
I’m officially a week into my summer break and I’m loving it! I’ve been busy taking care of some little projects around my house and relaxing. Try as I might, I can’t quite turn off my teaching brain. So I’ve already picked up some new books to read this summer as I look at my list of “Teaching Goals” for next year. I’m always looking for ways to improve and these all came highly recommended so I’m excited to dig in and start planning for next year.
First up is Teaching With Intention by Debbie Miller.I’m linking up with Greg over at The Kindergarten Smorgasbord for his summer book study. I’m so excited about this book and taking the time to really reflect on my teaching and what I want my classroom to look and feel like.
Next is Bringing ABA to Home, School and Play by Debra Leach. It all about incorporating Applied Behavioral Analysis principals into young students daily activities. So far it’s been full of great ideas and it’s easy to understand for a layman like me that isn’t a BCBA.
Last up, and this is my actual schools summer read, is Rules in School. It’s all about creating a responsive classroom and understanding the positive behavior can be taught. I normally groan whenever there a summer read from school but this actually piqued my interest.
What are your reading this summer?
And be sure to check back tomorrow for the my post on Chapter 1 from Teaching With Intention!
